![]() ![]() How can i re-install my Windows 7 Home Premium OEM My laptop is SONY VAIO VPCEE4FX comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 圆4 OEM installed. Sony Vaio Windows 7 Recovery Disk Download. Thanks for the attention and thanks in advance for the replies! What does this mean? Does it have anything to do with the fact that the original OS of the laptop was Windows 7? Or does it mean that Windows 8 and 8.1 will automatically take care of most of the drivers? Or does it mean that Windows 8.1 only needs some of the drivers that windows 7 needs? My main question is what drivers should I install and why? (do I need to install the windows 7 drivers first and then overwrite with the windows 8 ones?).Ģ) My third question is what settings will I have to change in the BIOS in order to install on the SSD and to maximise compatibility between OS and SSD?ģ) Finally, is there any chance that I will be able to install with UEFI bios? (this is less important). This seems all very confusing to me because there are so many drivers to install and especially because there are more drivers for Windows 7, a bit less for Windows 8 and even less for Windows 8.1. I went on Sony's website in the download section and I found the downloads for my model, as you can see by clicking here. I am planning on swapping the currently used hard drive with a Samsung SSD 850 Evo and perform the install directly on the SSD.ġ) I know that after installing the OS I will have to install some of the drivers by myself (the internet driver, wifi driver, sound driver, graphics card driver and chipset driver). I don't want the OEM version of Windows with all the bloatware it comes with. I don't want to use the restore partition on the drive and then upgrade to windows 8.1 for the following reasons: I now want to perform a clean install of Windows 8.1. Now you can boot the Windows 8 USB recovery drive and perform a refresh, reset, system restore, system image recovery, and an automatic repair.About 2 years and a half ago I bought a Sony Vaio SVE1711X1EB and it had an OEM version of Windows 7 installed. When you get to the end of the wizard, click the Create button and wait a couple of minutes for the drive to be created. Any data left on the flash drive will be deleted by the recovery drive tool. Step 3: Make sure that the USB flash drive you're using is empty and that it shows up in the list of available drives. Without it, you can make do with just 256MB. Keep in mind that if you do copy the recovery partition, you'll need at least a 16GB USB flash drive. If the selection is grayed out, that means your PC doesn't have a recovery partition. Step 2: When the recovery drive tool appears, check the box next to "Copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive" if you want the recovery tools that came with your PC to be included in the recovery drive. Select "Create a recovery drive" to begin the recovery drive tool. ![]() Step 1: From the Windows 8 Start screen, type "recovery," then choose Settings to see the search results under Settings. Here's how to create a Windows 8 USB recovery drive for your PC: Though you can create a recovery DVD, USB flash drives are much more convenient and are fairly inexpensive.
